Kevin M. Casini
Kevin M. Casini is a Partner at Billings & Barrett, LLC, in New Haven, CT. His practice focuses on property and probate law and consists of local business litigation, limited liability corporations and commercial property holdings, wills, trusts and estate planning, residential and commercial real estate deals and closings, foreclosures, land use and boundary disputes, tax assessment appeals, as well as civil, property, and foreclosure defense.
In addition, Kevin handles copyright and trademark work for small businesses and represents select entertainment law clients. He is licensed to practice law in the State and Federal courts of Connecticut. At previous positions he represented the banking and financial services industry.
Kevin graduated with honors from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2009, where he served as President of the Student Bar Association, President of the Intellectual Property Law Society, and competed for the Mock Trial Honors Society. His studies were concentrated in Intellectual Property, and he was awarded his diploma with IP concentration with high honors.
Before law school, Kevin attended the University of Maryland before ultimately graduating from the Berklee College of Music, in Boston, where he studied education and jazz saxophone. While at Berklee, Kevin performed with various ensembles and bands, and recorded and toured in support of an album.
While in Boston, Kevin was a member of and instructor at Community Boating, Inc., a sailing club on the Charles River founded for the advancement of sailing for all by minimizing economic and physical obstacles to sailing.
In addition to his duties at the firm, Kevin sits on the Board of Directors of the Greater New Haven Transit District and is chairman of the New Haven County Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service Committee.
Kevin volunteers his time locally with City Seed and the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen and sits on the board of the Foundation of the New Haven County Bar Association, which works to promote access to and the efficiency and integrity of the judicial process; to establish and/or provide for organized entities or facilities for the furnishing of legal services to all citizens; and to apply its knowledge and experience in the field of law to the promotion of the public good.
Additionally, he sits on the board of directors of the New Haven Crypt Association, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that oversees the care and maintenance of the Center Church Crypt in New Haven, Connecticut. The Crypt is a burial ground beneath The Center Church and marks the last remaining evidence of the early settlers of the New Haven Colony who were buried on the Green.
Kevin is originally from the Bucks County of Philadelphia, where he was a 1996 graduate of Council Rock High School in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
